Students will be learning about arrays and repetitive addition formulas using the class code: irlzhby. Arrays and repetitive addition are a part of the second-grade Ohio math standards. Repetitive addition will help create a foundation of multiplication for students. The arrays will help them visualize the addition formulas. The goal is for students to complete this assignment feeling confident about repetitive addition.

Students will be required to take this questionnaire before welcome night: google caregiver questionaire This allows me as a teacher to better understand your child before him/her is introduced into my classroom. I will now have all the information that I need to help your child be successful and safe throughout the school year!

Students will be required to go through the google slide presentation and answer the questions within it. They will have questions of different complexity, this allows me to better understand where my students' comprehension is at. Thank you!

Here is a screencastify video for parents/guardians to watch. I hope this helps you get to know me and gives you a glimpse of how my classroom is set up. This is set from the student's perspective for you to feel more engaged in the learning experience. The students love interactive presentations rather than sitting and listening the entire time, so I add volunteer opportunities and unique activities to balance the lesson. Thanks for watching!

There is a link for the rubric relating to the virtual tour. This rubric explains the grading system I will be using for this assignment. I would like to provide this rubric for both students and parents to get answers to grading questions. I am happy to provide more information if necessary!

My google sites website is a great way for both parents and students to get a feel for my classroom management and the kind of resources that I use/recommend. There is easy access to apps through this page and a code to my google classroom. I encourage everyone to take a glimpse at my google sites!
Students will be working on a class project having to do with the windows on the front of the White House. Students will create arrays and formulas after watching a few videos and completing a few activities. This project will be used to warm students up to the idea of arrays and repeated addition.
Students will work on a project I have created over personal and private information. This project will educate students on digital citizenship. Creating an environment where students feel safe using the internet and adults feel safe letting them.
